What DuPont is doing for society
DuPont is committed to improving the quality of life and enhancing the vitality of the communities in which it operates throughout the world. Through financial contributions and the volunteer efforts of its employees, DuPont supports programs and organizations that address social progress, economic success and environmental excellence - all vital components of community sustainability.
Recognized for its leadership in enhancing and maintaining the environment, DuPont supports initiatives that produce significant and measurable results in four major areas of environmental quality: conservation, public policy, research and education, and environmental management. DuPont people volunteer in a wide range of community and educational activities, including help to supply and rebuild storm-damaged communities, clean up beaches, teach high school science and math, and take science shows to elementary schools. In recent years, DuPont has funded a matching grant program that enables DuPont sites worldwide to put in place environmental and educational programs in their communities. DuPont plants are encouraged to adopt schools or work with school districts in providing mentors and speakers and also by donating surplus equipment.
